Detour Student Ministry

College students are responsible for key elements of the weekend for local area church youth groups. Students assist with programming elements, administrative tasks such as check in, food preparation and clean up as well as general guides for the weekend. Students provide general support in all areas of running the two night, three day event for hundreds of youth participants and motivate participants to engage in the different aspects of the weekend.

Lighthouse Beer and Wine Festival Volunteers Needed

It is that time of year again, and the Lighthouse Beer and Wine Festival 2013 is slowly approaching us. This year the festival will be on Saturday, October 19 from 1pm to 5 pm. We are still looking for people to volunteer at the festival. The proceeds will go to aiding the Carousel Center and the services we provide to abused and neglected children. Family Fun Day at Brunswick Nature Park

Come out and spend a day at the park! Try Mountain Biking with the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association, kayaking with the Adventure Kayak Company (10:00am -12:00pm), guided horse rides by Wonderland Farms, meet Scarlet the hawk from Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter, take a nature hike along Town Creek, make a pine cone bird feeder, and learn about our conservation efforts at the park! Glide Bikes will be holding balance bike races, and you can enter to win your very own Glide Bike! We desperately needs volunteer help with our Family Fun Day at Brunswick Nature Park this Saturday. Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. There will be a voucher for a snack lunch. Attached is our sign up sheet. SAVE THE NIGHT

The Save the Night Masquerade Ball at Saint Thomas Preservation Hall in Wilmington, NC, features a chance to dance in the New Year and enjoy an open bar, hors d' oeuvres, dessert, a champagne toast, and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the Centre of Redemption, a home for underage pregnant girls rescued from sex trafficking. HOURS: 9pm to 1am.

Carousel Center

For the first time in Carousel Center history we are looking for volunteers to work within the center. The Carousel Center provides a safe environment for abused and neglected children. We are currently seeking child friendly, enthusiastic, and team oriented individuals to volunteer with us. We are looking for Greeter Volunteers, who will provide an impeccable first impression to Carousel Center visitors and community partners. We are asking volunteers to commit to at least four hours a week. Our hours are from 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. We are in also in need for volunteers to assist on Saturday. Volunteers play an essential role in aiding the Carousel Center. We appreciate all you have done to make sure abused and neglected children have a safe place to receive services. We will have another round of awesome raffle items, live music by Fred Flynn, a silent auction, and a live bagpipe performance! Donations will assist OASIS NC's new private school program and provide scholarship assistance to a deserving student!
