SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, is the only academic medical center in Central New York. The University has four colleges: College of Graduate Studies; College of Health Professions; College of Medicine and College of Nursing.

The Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) supports defined learning experiences and volunteer programs that meet the needs of the region. The students, faculty and staff engaged in CCEL programs help to improve the health of the community, while learning about the non-biological determinants of health.
