Join the MWCC Center for Civic Learning and Community Engagement in helping Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz prepare and pack care packages for local students who are in need of food. MWCC joins the United Way of North Central Massachusetts for this 18th Annual Day of Caring event!

Started as a United Way Youth Venture by Leominster fifth grader Kylee McCumber, Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz helps children who do not have enough food at home on the weekends. Kylee noticed that there were many children eating breakfast at her elementary school each day and began to research ways that she and fellow community members could help these children.

Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz currently provides food every weekend for children in the Leominster public school system. Each Friday the children receive a Kare Kit that includes cereal, juice, fruit cups, applesauce, pudding, macaroni & cheese, chicken noodle soup, pasta products, granola bars, fruit snacks, peanut butter crackers.... The contents of the Kare Kits vary week to week depending upon what the organization can purchase on sale or what may have been donated that week.

Participants in this special event will pack Kare Kits from donated and purchased supplies in an impressive assembly line in the MWCC Commons.
